Foot Pursuit Protocol

• Use of Force: Officers may use a combination of tackles and tasers, up to three times total, at their discretion.

• Taser Rules: Each shot counts, even if missed. A missed shot cannot be retried.

• Force Intervals: A 15-second gap is required between each use of force (tackle or taser). Count this internally.

• After Three Attempts: If the suspect still flees, officers may use a baton, maintaining the 15-second interval, until the suspect is incapacitated for arrest.

• Compliance: If the suspect surrenders, instruct them to raise their hands, face away, and announce they will be placed in cuffs and arrested.
