Code Of Conduct

The Code of Conduct establishes the ethical and professional standards expected of all members of all law enforcement agencies. Adherence to these principles is crucial for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the department.

  1. Professionalism: Officers must conduct themselves with professionalism at all times, both in uniform and out of uniform. This includes treating all individuals with respect and dignity, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance, and performing duties with competence and dedication.

  2. Integrity: Officers are expected to act with honesty and integrity in all their interactions. This includes being truthful in reports, avoiding conflicts of interest, and resisting any form of corruption or unethical behavior.

  3. Accountability: Officers are accountable for their actions and decisions. They must comply with all departmental policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws. Any violations must be reported through the appropriate channels and will be subject to review and potential disciplinary action.

  4. Respect for Others: Officers must treat colleagues, citizens, and suspects with respect and fairness. Discriminatory behavior, harassment, or any form of abusive conduct will not be tolerated.

  5. Confidentiality: Officers must protect the confidentiality of sensitive information. This includes safeguarding personal data, investigative details, and any information that could compromise ongoing operations or individual privacy.

  6. Use of Force: Officers are authorized to use force only when necessary and in accordance with departmental guidelines. Excessive or unjustified use of force is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.

  7. Responsibility to Report: Officers have a duty to report any violations of this Code of Conduct or departmental procedures. Failure to report such issues may be viewed as a breach of responsibility.

  8. Adherence to Law: Officers must abide by all applicable laws and regulations. Illegal activities or behavior inconsistent with the law will result in immediate review and possible criminal charges.

By following this Code of Conduct, officers contribute to the overall mission of all law enforcement agencies to serve and protect the community with honor and professionalism.
